I recently have come across a program called Masterwriter, which is a computer based software that is meant to aide in creative writing and songwriting. I never in my right mind thought that this ever even existed, but apparent it does!
I have decided to pick up the software that is designed for songwriters, and I am going to test it out and see if it is worthwhile at all.
In my personal opinion, I cant really see how you can use software as part of your songwriting process, but maybe I am just old fashioned. I am not close minded enough to give it a try though.
The software claims that it can take your basic lyrics, and enhance it completely by adding rhymes, phrases, sound a likes, synonyms and antonyms. The software also looks for popular words that are used with pop culture.
You can watch a video on the software and how it works here:

(I am not an affiliate of this product, I am just interested in the moment)
I will post later on, what I actually think of this songwriting software. I would love to hear from any of you that have used this software and what you think about it.

This will be an interesting experiment, I’m sure!
Being a purist in my own craft – that of writing – I know how hard it is to accept something that might make it easier. As a teenager, I thought I would never be able to write with a typewriter rather than longhand. As a young adult I totally eschewed word processors. It was a long time before I could even accept the electronic typewriter.
But if the software is what it claims to be, it sounds like it will be a useful tool in helping you to make YOUR music better! I hope it proves to be so. 🙂

It is an interesting concept to me too. I write songs myself, and because it is such a personal and creative process, utilizing software almost takes away the scaredness of writing a song. On the other hand, if making a “hit song” is your primary focus, it really might help enhance a song.
