How plug-ins works might be new to some of you but let me explains how it changes things up. Plug-ins is created to add specific abilities to a larger software application, it is just a set of software components, if supported will enable and customize the functionality of an application. It has been in existence and usage way back 70’s but with the advancement of our technology, it has been made better.
Focusrite, back in the 80’s, had already introduced its classic hardware modules: the ISA110 EQ and ISA130 compressor and it is used for Forté console. And now they are introducing, the new, Focusrite’s Midnight plug-in suite which features VST, AU and RTAS versions of the ISA110 EQ and ISA130 compressor. Right now it is available for your DAW with analogue-style controls that are intact.
4-band parametric EQ with peaking and shelving along with long low-ang-high-pass filters is being offered in the new Midnight EQ. Each band has a high-end control that reaches up to 15kHz and +/- 16dB of gain.
Its compressor features ratios of1:5 to infinity. It is adjustable attack, auto/manual release and simple metering that is designed to help keeps the tabs on gain reduction, threshold and input/output levels.
There is no certainty on the prices yet and when it will be released but there are reasons to believe that Midnight plug-in suite will cost $99.

Hi John – I can tell by reading your post that you are a true music producer enthusiast! Sounds like you found a great plugin – and the price is very reasonable. I must admit I don’t know much about music production but always willing to learn and it looks like your blog is just the place to do that! Thanks
