Nestled away in the heart of Manhattan, NY on 52 West 8th Street is Electric Lady Studios. This studio has quite a history for itself featuring recording from some of the most popular artists in the world, and was designed and created for the guitar great, Jiimi Hendrix. This studio has seen its fair share of success and main stream artist, becoming a historic landmark of New York.

The studio was started by guitar legend Jimi Hendrix and his manager Michael Jeffery. The decided to open up this studio to provide a better recording experience, and JImi recorded 3 of his most famous albums at this location. It originally took twice as long and cost twice as music to build, than what the two of them were expecting to pay. The studio was designed by John Storyk, and included ambient lighting that was supposed to encourage Jimi’s creativity (and drug trips too).
Jimi Hendrix’s Electric Lady Land was recorded in four weeks at this studio, and eventually went to become one of Jimi’s most successful albums of all time. Today, the studio is alive and well still recording many of Warner Brothers music artists like Kanye West, Rihanna, and Miley Cyrus the studio has continued to see some of the best music talent behind its doors and will contnue to produce some of the greatest music of all time.
