You may not know it already, but you are already very familiar with Dr.Luke.  He is responsible for some of the biggest pop song sensations from 2009-2011.  Some of that artist’s that he worked with is Ke$ha, 3OH!3, Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry.   He is responsible for most of Katy Perry’s hits like “Teenage Dream” and “California Gurls”, Kelly Clarkson’s “Since you’ve been gone” and Ke$ha’s “Your Love is my Drug” & “We R Who We R”.    Needless to say that, Dr. Luke is a hit making machine.

Dr. Luke’s real name is Lukasz Gottwald and is a 37 year old who got originally from Rhode Island.   He has always been a fan of music from an early age.    From his younger years he learned the guitar and wanted to learn the drums.  This passion for music lead him to New York City, where he attended the Manhattan School of Music as a young adult.

His first spout in the entertainment industry was with SNL (Saturday Night Live).  He played in the house band for almost 10 consecutive years.  This helpded him establish credibility  within the industry and he started making commercials and working on hip hop albums. 

Everything started to change for him when he collaborated with music producer, Max Martin.   At that point he collaborated on his first major hit with Kelly Clarkson.  The #1 single “Since You’ve Been Gone” quickly climbed the charts and put Dr. Luke in the mainstream.  

From that point on, Dr. Luke has produced at aleast a couple of #1 singles each year.    His work and continued success has lead him to 2 nominations for 53rd Grammy Awards for work with Katy Perry and Producer of the year.  Billboard music has also given him the title of #1 for the 100 hottest songwritters for 2011.  Who knoww that is in store from this guy in the years to come.  One thing is for sure that he is not going away, he is hear to stay in pop music.
