The big addition for this version is the native MIDI support, although it is not the best feature of this version. You can find out the other features at the TechRadar site.

Apps now can be created by developers that can control via a MIDI even with out hardware like Line’s 6 MIDI mobilize.

As for the iPad, you can connect this through a USB MIDI controller keywith the use of Apple’s Camera connection kit, from there you can now make it work with MIDI-compatible software.

Although I am not a techie by any means, I truly understand the value of overdelivering on what you promise, and Apple does this better than most. I am a converted PC user and now have gone 100% Apple — desktop, laptop, iPhone, iPod… next up is iPad.

I just love their customer service and integrity to “make it right at all costs’ with their customers. In today’s age, that’s hard to find in most cases.

Great information, I must say. Someday, maybe It may be more useful to me. Like Bob, I am not a techie and this info is a bit out of my league of what I use at this point. In the future I may see the need for extra “gadgets”, but for now I am extremely happy with my Mac.
Apple is fabulous and offers consumers great products.
Thanks so much for the update!

Awesome information. I’m not on top of the latest and the greatest of the techie world yet, but this gives me incentive to get there. After reading this, I realize that I’m just making excuses not to move on. Hmmm Gotta look into this ….Thanks for the push.

Thank you for that. Apple is certainly a leader in the filed of innovation and they seem to always be a step ahead of the competition. Besides the quality of their products, what has always amazed me is the true “coolness” of their design!

We live in a world where technologies are bringing phenomenal opportunities and apple new iOS 4.2 certainly fits that profile!

    Keep the Smiles,

    Stevie

Thanks for sharing this info on the update. I know that Apple has always been focused on multimedia but I was surprised that they are doing what they are with MIDI. I have a couple of musician friends who will be stoked!
