Before the digital age in the new millennium, major recording studios produced some of the worlds greatest music.    Those days are not all gone, but the rise of the home studio is changing the way that we record music.  None the less, there are still amazing studios that have built quite a reputation for themselves.   Here are the arguably 8 most famous recording studios in the world.

    The location where the famous location where the beatles album was recorded.  The studio is alive and well today.

  4. Sunset Studios
    Hollywood, CA 
    The home of the California sound, home to 1000’s of albums/
    Credits:  the Stones, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac and the Beach Boys.
  5. The Record Plant
    Los Angeles, CA
    A recording studio with grammies for the studio.

    The birthpalce of Motown music!

Apparently the large cities win, with having some of the greatest studios of all time.  Los Angeles, New York and London will have to battle it out for who has the greatest studio.

    Great list, Wes! Have you heard of Word Of Mouth Studio in New Orleans? I did a demo there. Don Henley also used the studio for a bit of his music (I can’t give you specifics — you know, just name dropping..ha!)

    Anyway, I think it would be a riot to visit each of these studios, as well as others. You know, like guys do when they try to visit all of the ball parks. Why not, right?

    Sounds like it would be a good time. I have not heard of Word of Mouth Studios in New Orleans, but I am sure some great music has come out of there.
